The Great Ocean Road is a scenic coastal drive in Victoria, Australia, stretching for approximately 243 kilometers along the southeastern coast of the state. The road is famous for its stunning ocean views, towering limestone cliffs, and the Twelve Apostles, a collection of limestone stacks rising out of the sea.
The formation of the Twelve Apostles began over 20 million years ago when the sea receded and the limestone cliffs were formed. Over time, the wind and waves slowly eroded the cliffs, creating the unique formations that we see today.
I captured this angle of the Apostles early one winter’s morning just at daybreak.
I held the exposure down for a total of 2 minutes on Fuji Velvia 50.
